In 2018, Nike introduced the Air Force 1 High Sheed Rude Awakening, part of the Champions Think 16 collection, inspired by Rasheed Wallace and the triumph of the Detroit Pistons, who clinched their first NBA title in nearly twenty years. Some time later, in 2023, the spotlight returned to this chapter of history with the birth of a new special edition: the Nike Air Force 1 Mid Off-White Sheed, a sneaker that pays homage to the legendary 2001 Air Force 1 High “Sheed” PE, which remains a favorite among enthusiasts.
The design of the Air Force 1 Mid x Off-White Sheed stands out for its black patent leather upper, elegant and glossy, which gives the shoe a premium character. On the lateral heel, we find the embroidered logo featuring the silhouette of Rasheed Wallace in his iconic fadeaway jumper pose, while the inner side features the text “RASHEED” alongside classic Off-White lettering, a sign of the fusion between basketball and contemporary fashion. Another fundamental detail is the ankle strap, embellished with the number 30, the jersey number worn by Wallace throughout his NBA career. The shoe is completed by contrasting white Swooshes, a white midsole, and a black outsole with spiked details, typical of Off-White creations that add an bold and innovative touch to the model.
The package is not limited to the sneaker: inside, we find an extra set of laces, the iconic Off-White tags, and exclusive packaging designed to highlight the product as a true collector's item. All these details transform the “Sheed” into a model meant not only to be worn but also to be cherished by the most demanding collectors.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid x Off-White Sheed represents a tribute to the legacy of Rasheed Wallace and, at the same time, a work that continues the vision of Virgil Abloh, blending sports heritage, streetwear, and contemporary design. The official launch is scheduled for September 2023 and promises to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year, capable of celebrating the history of basketball and once again consolidating the centrality of the Air Force 1 in global sneaker culture.
