Looking after your sneakers day to day
A brush, a damp cloth, air drying: a few simple steps to keep a pair clean.
Leather and synthetics
Remove the laces, brush off the dust, then wipe the upper with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Leave to air-dry, away from any direct heat source.
Suede and nubuck
Use a dry suede brush to lift the nap. Avoid water: it marks the material. A suitable protective spray, applied to a clean pair, helps limit stains.
What is best avoided
Washing machines, tumble dryers and harsh cleaning products damage glues and materials. Regular light cleaning is better than a big clean-up that comes too late.
